Boats look beautiful here in the sunny bay surrounded by magnificent snowy mountains, and also on days with fog or a rainbow. Sailors race on Fridays, wooden boat owners display an assortment of polished vessels in September, and rowers of all types competed yesterday in the Rat Island Regatta. Water Rat's quote from The Wind and the Willows, "there is NOTHING--absolute nothing--half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats," is appropriate in Port Townsend.
